VCA Petrochemicals certificate successfully renewed
At the end of 2018, the TCS VCA Petrochemicals certificate was renewed following a very successful inspection. The auditor’s conclusions were gratifyingly positive: “It is pretty rare to find such a well-developed security system at a company of this size.”
TCS has been VCA Petrochemicals certified, the highest VCA category, since 2009. This was the third three-yearly check, this time laying emphasis on the new 2017-Petro/6.0 checklist. The particular points of attention are greater focus on safety in practice, intensified monitoring of workplaces and project locations, agreements with the client and management of subcontractors, working with non-native speakers and the safety culture within the organization.
The auditor’s compliments encouraged us to continue what we’re doing
TCS had fully anticipated and was well-prepared in all these areas. “The auditor explicitly confirmed this,” says HSE Manager Eddy Nijst. “He also specifically commented on the additional observation rounds by managers, the practice of addressing personnel individually, the comprehensive and clear safety report, the installation of TV screens for targeted awareness campaigns and the newly-created information sheets outlining the personal protective equipment available. These are beautiful words to our ears, giving us encouragement to continue what we’re doing.”
