In practice, industrial steel construction is often very complex. It usually comes down to careful engineering, for example to guarantee tolerance limits and to make sure that most of the work can be fabricated in a workshop, reducing onsite work to a strict minimum. That’s why our steel construction engineers spend a lot of time finetuning the detailed design, including connection details and the necessary corrosion protection and fire resistance. They have all the necessary expertise and practical knowledge. They also constantly confer with assemblers and welders as well as with onsite workers. Because a good start is half the battle. And as a result, the work onsite does look a bit like Meccano.
